Bulletin of the Rector of the Medical University of Lodz and the President of the Polish Mother’s Memorial Hospital – Research Institute on the epidemiological situation in Italy – CORONAVIRUS

Dear Sirs and Mesdames,

Due to the epidemiological situation in Italy, we are in constant contact with the Public Provincial Sanitary Inspectorate in Łódź. Until we receive current recommendations, we follow the orders included in the attached GIS communication (February 14, 2020)

For people who have returned from Italy in recent days, in particular from the region of Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont, Emilia Romagna, Lazio (even if they did not have contact with sick people, they feel well and healthy themselves), we strongly recommend limiting social activity for 14 days (staying at home), health monitoring and constant contact with the Sanitary Inspectorate. If respiratory problems occur within 14 days, an infectious disease doctor should be contacted.

Students of the Medical University of Lodz, to whom the above message applies, are requested to contact the lecturers, and the lecturers are asked for a liberal and flexible approach to how exams are taken and passed by people at risk.

The matter should be treated as urgent and important.

Rector
Prof. Radzisław Kordek, PhD
President of PMMH-RI
prof. Maciej Banach, MD, PhD
